Kraig and Vivian returned to Iron River Bible Church in June 2011. The Iron River Bible Church is the same church Kraig attended for many years when he was growing up. After meeting his wife Vivian the Lord called them over to Dunbar Wi to attend Northland International University. Kraig and Vivian served at Nothland for five years. Kraig was also the Youth Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Kingsford Mi. Kraig and Vivian are enjoying life as new parents. They have two girls named Eliana and Emma. Vivian is the current pianist for the church. Vivian started playing piano at a young age and is also a piano teacher. Vivian also leads a teen girls bible study that meets a few times a month. Vivian is currently working on this years VBS program as well as our summer Kids Club program, Master Clubs and Women's Bible Study. Kraig and Vivian are thankful for the many opportunities that the Lord continues to give them here in Iron River.
Dan Waters is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics in 1968 before being led into the Ministry. He served in the United States Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier Forrestal, CVA-59 from 1970 - 1972. He met his wife Mary while in the Navy. Mary was a Navy Nurse during that same time period.
After being released from the Military, Dan & Mary traveled to Grace Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity Degree in 1975. Then they traveled to Dallas Theoogical Seminary where he earned a Master of Sacred Theology in 1976.
Pastor Waters has been preaching regularly since 1976 and had Pastored 3 churches in Illinois before coming to Iron River Michigan in 1995. Before coming to Iron River he was also active in the Illinois Bible Church Mission, serving as its director for a few years. He also enjoyed the privilege of preaching at Pacific Garden Mission on a monthly basis during must of this time.
Dan's wife, Mary is a talented lady who enjoys cooking, crafts, sewing and working with children. Her present ministry includes Character First! Kids Club, which helps parents in their task of developing Godly character in their children.
The Waters have 2 children, Joy and Daryl. Joy married a local man, Dewayne Ward in 1997. The Wards are active in a Church in Marquette.
In addition to the ministry, Dan enjoys computers and ham radio, and is active in the local "Ham Radio Club." He also enjoys woodworking when time permits.
Dan loves serving as the Pastor of the Iron River Bible Church. When asked about his greatest joys, he said, "The greatest joy I have in life is to know that I will be in heaven and live there forever with my Savior. The greatest joy I have on plant earth is to be Mary's husband, and to enjoy my children, their mates and grandchildren. The greatest privilege I have is to be a part of this church and being able to tell others "How to Get to Heaven."
